Natia Dikhtyar was born in Tiflis, Georgia in May of 1981 and has been living and working in
Germany since 2007.
She took piano lessons at the Tbilisi State Music School From 1987-1994, and she was
admitted to the Jazz Voice studio of Guliko Chanturia at the Academy for Modern Art in
During her studies she worked with many professional musicians and played many concerts,
including at the „DoJazz 2002“ festival with her former trio in Donetsk, Ukraine.
From 2007-2010 she studied at the „Musikhochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst“ in
Stuttgart, Germany, studying Jazz Voice and Piano.
During and following her studies, Natia has performed regularly with well known
musicians of the Stuttgart jazz scene and has been a soloist for many projects, such as
big bands, salsa bands, and with her „Natia Dikhtyar Quintet“.
In 2010 she was a semi-finalist in the International jazz competition „Jazz Voices“ in Klaipeda,
Since 2012 her compositions and arrangements have been played by her trio „Atinati“, with
Kasia Kadlubowska on Vibraphone (Poland) and Matthew Bookert on Tuba (USA).
In 2013 she founded a project with bassist and producer Patrick „Paco“ Müller out of which an
exciting and interesting formation resulted. The musicians hail from diverse cultural as well as
musical directions, such as classical, Pop-Rock, World-Music, Jazz, Electro, and New Music.

As a jazz singer, her style ranges between traditional and modern music, and she is particularly
interested in the instrumental approach of the voice.
